Just a little shopping....

What a fun weekend.... I went to the antique show in Fishersville yesterday. I went by myself and I will have to say it was nice not to have someone say "are you ready to go"? I found a few things that just needed to come home with me.  A neat bucket, a couple a spools, a jar of vintage buttons, an old stool and a door that looks like it came off of an old trunk possibly.

Then this morning when I woke up I decided to go to the plant sale at Saunders Nursery. I found a few plants that would be great in my garden. After that I stopped at a new little antique place that I found in Piney River. Second Time Around Antiques. I found a square galvanized tub that also would be so cute in the garden.

After all my trips of running around town I made my way to my friend Lori's shop at Notforgotten Farm.

I made one more purchase here. I need wooden cubby. If you have never been to Lori's shop it is a must go place.

At the shop I able to sit and enjoy the company of Joan and Lori while I hooked and finished my rug
"Bah Bah Black Sheep"

I now need to finish the edges and the back .

Well after a trip to the grocery store I'm finally home. I think I will tidy up a bit and after dinner I will start on finishing the back of my rug. Well Happy Mothers Day to all the moms and I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Hugs

Some of my favorite things

This antique rake was used by my family and it was displayed in my childhood yard. Now it is displayed in mine.
The tulips are just starting to bloom.

This is a Strawberries and Cream Hydrangea

Some of my wooden rolling pins.
An old jug
A few little Ironstone pitchers.
Our little goldfish pond before everything has begun to bloom.

My Bleeding Heart Bush just beginning to show life.

This is the sitting area on my front porch and the scene of my new project.

I didn't like the color of the cushions so I decided that I can cover them. :) I dismantled the old cover and I will make a pattern out of that. I have taken one apart and will take the others apart now.

This is the new fabric that I chose to cover the cushions with. Well wish me luck and I will keep you posted with updates. Hopefully I wont have to make a trip to Lowes to buy new cushions.

Take care

Great day for a drive

What a great day to get out of the house. I went shopping today for fabric to cover the cushions for the wicker furniture on my front porch and on my way home I think I drove up every back road where I grew up. It was a great day to do just that. I will share a few pictures that I took along my way today.

Progress on my sheep rug and a little show and tell.

I just wanted to share with you the progress that I am making on my sheep runner. I am working on it just a few hours in the evenings.

I also want to share with you some of my finished projects.
Below is a wall hanging or could be a small rug. It its wool hooked and backed with a calico print.

This Is Mrs. Penelope she is a one of a kind primitive rabbit. She is wearing a cream muslin dress with a wool and needle punch bag. I hand painted her face.

Now I want you to meet Emma. She too is a one of a kind primitive doll with a calico dress. Her face is hand painted and she has a little friend in her pocket.

This is a wool applique pillow that I made and completely by hand. It is so cute and the back has a special little touch.

One of my primitive bunnies that I made from muslin that I hand dyed with walnut stain.

Below are two chair pads that I punched with a variety of wool yarns. I finished the back with a calico prints and a blanket stitch around the edges. Both are my own designs.

Below is a hanger that was I cross stitched from a design from Notforgotten Farm. Backed it with a little wool. And finished the edges with matching cording.

This is a wool penny rug with a little sheep that is finished on the back with a calico print and a little accent button.

This is a hipster purse that I made and I am so proud of. It is a one of a kind also. The sheep is punched with wool on the front and the back is knitted then felted. The strap is nice and long. It has a magnetic closure and is lined with a few pockets.

Well last but not least is a long wooden cutting board that I put a cross stitch that I finished on it

I think that I will be listing some things on Etsy. I would be interested in your comments. Thanks for stopping by.
